STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REGISTER
AND VERIFY YOUR NICKNAME ON THE FTC IRC CHAT
SERVICE
1. REGISTER YOUR NICKNAME
In your mIRC Client
Program under status or in webchat in the
talk bar.. type this in:
/msg nickserv register password email
NOTICE: /msg nickserv
register password email
is NOT correct!!!
Replace
'password' and 'email' with a password
you can remember.. and your own email.
If
your password is goat and your email is
smith@hotmail.com, your entry would look
like this:
/msg nickserv
register goat smith@hotmail.com

* replace 'password' and 'mail' with a
password
you can remember.. and your own email.
Then press enter
You
should get a result similar to this:

2. VERIFY YOUR
NICKNAME WHEN U SIGN IN
Right when u
connect, go to status window and type this
in to identify
your nickname:
/msg nickserv
identify password
* change
'password' to the actual password you
registered with
3. TO MAKE
MIRC AUTO-IDENTIFY YOU ON ENTRY
Once you've
registered your Nickname, you can easily add
the entire NickServ Identification procedure
to mIRC's Perform on Connect option:
a. From the Tools menu on the top of
your mIRC Client (FTC Chat Commander or FTC
Voyager) select Options at the bottom of the
menu.
b. Once the Options window opens,
select Options under Connect on the top
Category.
c. Click on the Perform button located
on the Options window.
d. On the Perform window make sure
there is a check in the Enable perform on
connect check box.
e. At the bottom of the Perform
window, insert the following text inside the
Perform commands box:
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY password
f. Click OK on the Perform box to save
your settings, and then OK on the main
Options box.
g. Your mIRC client should
automatically identify you with your
password any time you join the FTC Chat
Network.
