Career Training

Ongoing career training is something that can help separate you from other job searchers in more ways than one. Specifically, I’m referring to training that can positively affect your career by helping you learn new skills or improve upon existing skills.
Other than showing potential employers that you are the type of person that understands the value of ongoing learning, career training helps keep your mind fresh and ensures that you don’t fall behind in any particular skills area.
As a recruiter, I can think of numerous occasions where companies required candidates applying for a job to have specific training - and in some cases, professional certifications - to be considered for the position.
Certainly, when new technologies or processes are released, it often results in required upskilling to actually learn and perfect them. This ensures that the people who hold various industry or job-specific training don’t simply take the course once and then forget about it.
In some cases, ongoing training to learn new versions or updated releases can become quite expensive especially if you have to cover the cost of the training yourself but if it’s a requirement of the job, it might be a cost you’ll have to bear.
Having said that, the result of career training that you undertake can end up benefiting you in the long term not only in terms of your professional development and improved skills but in terms of the improvement it makes on your resume in the eyes of potential employers as well.
Ongoing Career Training Suggestions
If you are having trouble getting some career training ideas, here are a few suggestions to help get you started:
Learning a new language Presentation skills training Project Management training Financial management training Time management training Assertiveness training Negotiation skills training Quality management training
Once you have completed the training – especially if it is specific to your industry or job and involves you passing a test or becoming certified – ensure that you properly document it on your resume including the name of the course and the timeframe of the training and/or certification.
In the case of professional certification, you might be allowed to display a graphic on your resume from the certification supplier to quickly enable potential hiring managers to see that you have it.

Online Web Design and Development training

To learn how to do web design has become a must for those affiliate marketers who want to be hands-on when it comes to maintaining their web sites. It is not really a prerequisite but having enough knowledge about it will help you understand how it is to run a profitable web site for your online business. This way you can also avoid being taken advantage of by people providing services in webpage design. Normally, online marketers hire the services of webpage design companies to do all the works in putting up a site on the net. These so-called experts take charge of designing all aspects of a site after taking into consideration the demands of their clients.
It is a bit time consuming when you transact business with web designers since you need to spend time with them so you can discuss what you want to have on your web page. After meeting with them, do not expect your site to be up and running as soon as possible since most probably there will be revisions to make before finally launching your site online. Most often, designers will not really have a full-grasped of how you want your site to be. Thus, expect some delays due to exchange of correspondence between two parties. This is a common occurrence when you outsource services.
If you want to avoid the aforementioned possibilities of delays, you may opt to take up web design courses and learn how to do it yourself. Due to the progress of technology in terms of web designing, there are web design courses online that you can avail of if you want to learn how to make a web site. These courses come in handy so it will be easier for you to understand how web pages are to be built. Being very aware of the technical side of maintaining a site online will contribute in your cost-saving measures. It is quite unfortunate that there are really many people these days who will most likely take advantage of your lack of knowledge.
Be spared from this kind of unfair deals by equipping yourself with the right knowledge. Ideally, after taking up web design courses, you may then be ready to create your own sites on your own without paying expensive professional fees. There are many web site design tools available in the market that will allow you to come up with pages that are professional-looking and has the appeal of many successful and established internet sites these days. Your technical knowledge plus creativity are two essential factors that will help make your page a hit over the internet. Don't limit your designs and try to explore on fresh and unique ideas.
In the long run, your sales page will surely enjoy quality traffic that you have aimed for. Your investment for the web design courses that you have availed of will definitely be worth it after all. Don't worry if you need to spend some cash at first, it is always practical to have a background on how to maintain a page that is geared towards a profitable stint over the internet. Try to scout for the best web design courses that are appropriate to your standards and budget as well.

Best Paying Careers

It is no secret that surgeons earn a hefty $189,590 annual salary on an average in the United States today. But the most unexpected news is the salaries of physicians assistants whose yearly average annual salary is an astonishing $63,490. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that their minimum qualification is a college degree and in addition a mandatory accreditation course. It is interesting to know which jobs are the top 10 paying ones in America. There are many surveys producing different results. Although there are some minor differences, most of them agree at least 7 out of 10 times.
The Best Paying Jobs in The United States
Interestingly, surgeons scored 7 points over CEOs, whose average annual salary was $134,960. The skill and the complex nature of the work contributes to their high salaries. That they carry a student loan of upto $100,000 is another factor that contributes.
The top professions on the list is followed by anesthesiologists with $181,420, Obstetricians and gynecologists earning $179,640, Internists, general $158,350 and the list goes on. In 9th place are dentists, whose reported annual average earning is $133,350. With the exception of the CEO who stands at the 8th position in the list, the top professions are all dominated by medical and healthcare professionals.
Personal financial advisors may find a place in the list of top ten earners, were it not for the huge variation in their earnings. An extremely brilliant personal financial advisor may earn up to $145,000 but the lower end is a paltry $28,330. The high salary fluctuation is because of its high growth potential coupled with high economic growth and the educational index required by the job.
Medical scientists earn an average of $100,000, which may be a measly sum, considering their educational backgrounds (PhD & doctoral degrees). But they precede podiatrists ($94,500), lawyers ($91,920), optometrists ($88,100) and computer and information systems managers whose salaries are around $83,890.
Surprisingly, so many other jobs and careers pay significantly higher salaries than positions in federal and state governments. For example, take the salaries of judges, which are positions of high significance in the society, which are at a level of $79,540. This can be understood by looking at the enterprising nature of corporations that hire these professionals.
Lets now take a look at the next top 10 paying careers in brief:
1. Pilots, co pilots and flight engineers$99,400pa
2. Marketing managers$78,410pa
3. Computer software and applications engineer
$76,310pa
4. Biomedical engineer$70,520;
They are trained in biology as well as engineering and work to develop solutions to health problems.
5. Environmental engineer$67,620
They work to fight damages to environment
6. Computer systems analyst$67,520
Systems analysts ensure that organizations make the best of their technological resources
7. Database administrator$61,950
Database administrators create and manage large quantities of financial, inventory and customer data.
8. Physical therapist$61,560
9. Network systems and data communication analyst
$61,250
10. Chemist
$60,880

New Blog Post Ideas

Everyone seems to have lots of things to write about in the beginning stages of a blog or web site, but at some point in time you just seem to either run out of ideas or lose interest. I put together this list of ways to generate new ideas for your blog or web site so you could have a never ending river of ideas at your fingertips!
Social Media Web Sites: Social media web sites are a great place to come up with new blog post ideas since what's popular is usually very interesting! You could spend hours and hours trolling sites like digg and del.icio.us for new content - but I prefer sites like popurls that aggregate the top stories from all the social media outlets, in addition to video and traditional news sources. As a bonus, whatever is hot in social media is usually most searched for as well!
RSS Readers: If you subscribe to a hundred of your favorite feeds in Google Reader or bloglines - then it's not hard to get post ideas in a jiffy each and every day. Just glance through a dozen or so blogs and you'll have a new blog post idea in no time.
Groups: I haven't used newsgroups in years, but something that's still alive are the email based "list" type groups. The major ones are at Google Groups, and Yahoo Groups. Just search for a group with a topic or interest you might like, such as gardening, jokes, crafts, auto repair, etc. Sign up for the group, and once you start getting posts you'll start getting ideas! If you're a techie, Google has a webmasters group with a never ending supply of questions, answers, and ideas.
Magazines and Catalogs: I get a lot of post ideas from snail mail believe it or not. I have blogs in topics I have interests in like technology, gadgets, and music. I get catalogs and magazines in the mail like guitar magazines, CompUSA catalogs, and even newspaper ads from Best Buy and Radio Shack. If something catches my eye - I blog about it. I purposely sign up for free catalogs in the same interests as my blogs to have a constant stream of potential ideas. I stack them up at the edge of my desk and go through them whenever I need to.
Ask for Guest Posters: Some of the most successful blogs are run and owned by multiple authors. If you are in need of new ideas and quality content, why not solicit guest authors? Add a form to your site and specifically ask for new ideas and guest posters. You could even contact your favorite blog authors and outright ask them to guest post on your site!
Forums: Forums are an endless source of questions and answers. Some discussion threads can go on for pages and pages, and it's always interesting to see the different insights of everyone that throws their thoughts into the ring. Forums can be a great source of blog post ideas.
Experience: Make a list of things that you are good at writing about. Do you like reading books? Are you good at fixing cars? Can you cook? Do you draw? Do you like fashion? Every single thing you have expertise and experience in is excellent fodder for blog posts!
Solving Problems: If you're a blogger and you write online, you have encountered all kinds of things you could already have written a blog post about. How to pick a good theme, how to add adsense, the pros and cons of Amazon Associates, how to outsource certain web site work. It doesn't even have to be online, sometimes I blog about problems I solve in real life, like how I fixed my laptop, how to find the best doctor, or the easiest way to get pen and pencil marks off a painted wall. If you made a list of all the daily problems in life you solved - you'd have a never ending supply of blog post ideas for sure!
After all these ideas you should have a never ending supply of blog post ideas. Now it's time to get writing!

How to Set Effective Goals

When each New Year begins are you often asked one particular question, "What is your New Year resolution?" Many people make resolutions as a focus to start the year; to make a change in their life, to do something differently, or to do one thing more or less often than before. Could a New Year resolution be likened to a goal?
Setting effective goals is an important aspect of any business. Why? When you set a goal you have a destination in mind. A goal is the difference between where you are now and where you want to be. Then how you reach your goal involves putting a series of steps in place. Each step is an objective or a milestone you need to achieve to help you accomplish your goal.
Here are 5 tips to help you set goals:
1. Write a list of goals. Include short, medium and long term goals e.g. 3 - 6 months, 1 year and 5 years. Planning goals at different intervals creates flexibility and puts them within reach.
2. Focus on ONE goal at a time. Get really good at one thing at a time. Once you have "taken a step" i.e. achieved your goal move onto the next goal.
3. Take bite sized, easy to digest chunks. Because you can't eat the whole elephant all at once!
4. Commit to making a success of each one of your goals. Set yourself a goal to dedicate one day per week to market your business. Use this day to concentrate on writing an article, creating a newsletter or making changes to your website.
5. Start with a goal and work backwards. Understand what you wish to achieve and think about how you can achieve it.
To help you realise your goals and achieve the results you desire set yourself SMART objectives:
• Specific - be clear and definite • Measurable - consider time, quality, quantity, money and standards • Achievable - are they within reach? • Relevant - to your business, marketplace, and customers • Timed - a start and end date with review points along the way.

Critical Thinking, Problem Solving , Education and Experience

Doctors, nurses and techs work to provide the patient with the most up-to-date and professional level of care available. However, none do it to the degree of those who work Emergency Medical Jobs. The Emergency Department has access to almost every asset the hospital has to offer.
Emergency Department Jobs require critical thinking, problem solving, and the wisdom to make life and death decisions almost instantly. Using the tools provided by the hospital, your education, experience and natural abilities, you will often be the difference between a patient living and a family grieving. While working in the medical field in general can be rewarding an fulfilling, none compares to being there when the patient can't live without the skills and experience you bring to the table.
In the United States, there are over 5,000 Hospital Emergency Departments. Around 1,000 of them are in designated Trauma 1 Centers. These facilities have among the highest rate of turnover in the medical field. Hard working and dedicated medical professionals accept Emergency Medical Jobs because they want to make a difference. Those who stay in the Emergency Department do so because they know they can. They get to do a job that most people can't do, even those who have the will and the heart. The line, "it isn't for everyone" was probably coined to describe Emergency Medical Jobs.
You are among those who want to challenge yourself on a daily basis. You would rather not have your day run by an appointment book, passing patient decision on to someone else, or where the ultimate choice you have to make is which brand of the same prescription drug to choose. You don't want to be the medical professional who dials 9-11 anytime a real emergency situation occurs. You want to practice the kind of medicine that the others cannot (or will not) do.
Forget ER, Third Watch, or "reality TV", this is reality as it happens every day. No, not you won't be intubating someone every day. No, CPR usually doesn't bring the patient back (No matter how good the one administering it looks in a swim suit). No, you probably won't get to meet George Clooney or Katherine Heigl (and even if you do, you don't get to tell anyone about it). Yes, you do get to do the one thing that lead you to the medical field in the first place... help people who can't help themselves.
We are looking for those with the drive to do things others don't want to do; the heart to overlook stereotypes and prejudices; the intelligence to make the right decision the first time; and the wisdom to accept outcomes as they happen. We want the best of the new professionals fresh out of medical, nursing and allied health educational programs. We are also out to bring in the seasoned physicians, nurses and techs from all other disciplines. We are here to recruit the best there is. The very heart and soul of what it means to work in medicine.

How to Use Online Classified Ads

Classifieds are ideal for selling just about anything at all. If you're selling over the internet all you really need is a good description of the items. It will definitely help if you also supply some photographs of them. In fact, some sites might even make photos mandatory.
The benefit of online classifieds is that you can literally reach millions of people with the ads. Well, billions really if you want to get technical. This means your odds of selling your items or finding what you're looking for if you're buying, are very good indeed.
There are many internet sites that incorporate online classified ads into them by having a section for them. This is reminiscent to magazines and newspapers that have a dedicated section to them. There are also many websites around the world that are totally dedicated to online classifieds. In fact the whole website is basically full of people trying to bell and sell their wares.
Some of these sites are free of charge and others may have a fee. Some of them will just require that you register and become a member. If there is a price, it could be per word or per ad. The price systems will actually vary at each location. You have the opportunity to check put many websites, so you can compare how they work. The choice you make is then up to you.
Some online classified ads sites may be for certain types of products only. For example they may only deal in sporting goods or automotive parts etc. However, most of them are for selling all types of articles all in one place. The sites are very easy to find. One of the simplest ways is to just find a search engine and type in the words 'classified ads.'
When using online classifieds, you generally have to be a trusting person. The main reason for this is that you may be buying items from somebody in another state or even another country. This means you don't have the opportunity to check the goods out in person before buying them. You will have to take the word of the seller and go by photos.
If you do buy any items from people that need to ship them to you, make sure you are very clear on the details. You should also make sure the items are insured in case they are lost or damaged during shipping. If you can get some type of guarantee with your purchase that will be a bonus as well. However, with some online classified ads, you're basically on your own.

Salary Negotiating Tactics

I know we are in the middle of the worst recessions in the history of America right now, and people are getting laid off left and right. But that doesn't mean you can't necessarily negotiate a better salary. In this article I'm going to discuss my best negotiating tactics when it comes to salary.
I'm not going to lie to you, anytime you have to negotiate salary with a prospective employer, or even with your current employer, it is going to be awkward. On the other hand, you might not ever have such a good opportunity to negotiate exactly what you want from your employer, especially if it's a new employer.
It doesn't matter what you're negotiating for, salary, or anything else; in all negotiations you can't expect to prevail unless you know exactly what you want and exactly what you can realistically expect to get.
In my opinion, the best tactic when it comes to negotiating salary, is to wait and not talk about salary at all until you're absolutely sure that you have the job. Why is this? Because most of the time if you are actually offered the job, then the other candidates have been turned away. I find that most of the time companies don't keep any sort of back-up applicant ready and waiting in case you turn them down. They usually put all their eggs in one basket. And now you are holding the basket!
That means that the company has to start from scratch to find a new candidate if you turn them down. This costs them a lot of money and a lot of time and a lot of headaches that they would rather not deal with. Not to mention the fact that they will probably find less qualified candidates the second time around.
If they start to talk about compensation early in the interview process, try and change the subject or evade the question as well as you can. Remember, it's in your interest to leave salary talk till the very end. If they keep pushing it on salary the beginning, I suggest mentioning what you made earlier in your old job and then distract them with a generic stock phrase like "I'm actually more interested in the career opportunity here than anything else". You get the idea...
After you've been offered the job, be confident with your salary demands. Just don't go overboard. If you ask ridiculously high compensation levels that are not in line with current industry standards, the fact that you've been offered the job and other candidates have been turned away may not save you. Be confident just don't go overboard. You don't want to start your new job, after all, off on the wrong foot by haggling over pennies.
If you do reach a standoff at this stage in the game try throwing a curve ball. Offer to work for a period, say a month or two, at the minimum wage level that they are offering with the understanding that after that trial period if they are satisfied with your work, the compensation level will increase to what you have been asking for.
I've never heard of a company actually taking somebody up on this offer... but just the fact that you offered it may be enough for them to go ahead and grant the salary level that you are asking for. This sort of selfless behavior should impress them enough to take a chance on you.
Whatever you do, and however the negotiations go, be sure to remain confident, surefooted, and act in a professional manner and I'm sure you'll be just fine.

Patience is the Key

Business is a world which, seen by an outsider, can seem utterly incomprehensible. Turning ideas into money is something that, if we all knew how to do it, could solve all of our problems and would make for a fascinating world of business. As things stand though, some people have the right stuff when it comes to making money and some do not. What is unfortunate is when people give up on their business ideas after some early difficulties. Often it is not the business which is failing, but the circumstances surrounding it. If you can address these, then often you will find that the business itself is good, that your idea is valuable and that people are prepared to pay well for the product or service that you provide.
Patience is one of the most important things you can possess as a businessperson. Sometimes, you will put time and effort into doing something, and when you put it before the public, it does not catch on like you hoped it would. Some ideas are immediate. You create something, you put it in front of people, and they are falling over themselves to pay for it. The key thing to realise is that these ideas are rare, which is why there are so few overnight millionaires and so many people who turn their backs on the world of business too early. If your idea does not take off immediately, think about why it hasn't done so. Consider what you could do to remedy this. Ask other people. But don't just give up, because your idea may just need a few tweaks to become a big seller.
Hard work and funding are not the only things that are required to make a business work. People have done it with precious little of the latter, and some have even been lucky enough to have it happen without much of the former as well. What businesses need in order to thrive, as much as anything else, is time. You need time to see who is buying your idea, and who is not. Why are they not buying it? What would make them change their mind?
The most important thing is that you are patient. If you have gone to the bother of trying to make your idea work, then the chances are you really believe in it. Although it may have had early teething troubles, if you believe in it then others may well agree, but you need to give them a chance. To put so much effort into something and then just give up seems a shame, does it not?

Reflection

I end this year the opposite of how it begun. A bunch of people (most likely due to I was embarrased) thought I was a perfect student. Truth be told, I had one rocky class. At the beginning of the year I was very depressed, and I hated myself for that class (and I still somewhat regret messing up so badly in that class, were it not for it my gpa would be 4.5 or so...). In any case, I began the year full of anger, and grief. Things didn't get much better, I'm not exactly the thinnest person around, and when summer rolled around, I was to depressed to really do anything, and as my doctor put it "He's going in the wrong direction," relating to weight. So, at the first half of my year, I gained weight, I was depressed, angry, and had a lot more issues then anyone thought. But now it's the end, and I'm proud.I'm back to being a perfect A student (Save for one geography 6 weeks where I got an 89, but thanks to my other awesome grades in it I have an average of a 93. and yes that teacher is stupid <_< Who the hell takes off 18 points for putting the word "Arctic ocean" slightly off center!? WHO!?). In any case, not only that, but I met some cool people. They're the ones that got me back into exercising and stuff. I'm still a pretty heavy guy (and sadly enough I put on some holiday weight, but who doesn't?), but I'm glad to annouce I lost 38 lbs. since the end of summer, to now. I hope to continue this trend, until I am back to a normal weight. So, I'm happy.I really am.I undergone a complete metamorphosis over the course of this year, and it feels good, even though a bit stressfull at times.

You'll find that my blogs may differ in subject from stanza to stanza, or it may make very little sense and be written about subjects that blogs normally don't cover. The reason being simply this: I'm a ???ing freak. You've been warned. I've often heard the saying that if you toss a frog into boiling water he will jump out quickly to preserve his life, and if you place the same frog in cool water and slowly bring it to a boil that he will lay there and die as if he had every intention to croak. I don't know if this is true, but the concept that is implied does have a particle of truth pertaining to humans. If we are thrust into an unknown or drastically different environment, we will fight it with our every weapon. However, if we our habitat and mental state is slowly changed by outside forces in intervals which we cannot easily see, we will lay back and accept our fate to be controlled by who, where, and what we are. This fact should be sickening. Humans, the only beings capable of abstract thought, are so easily persuaded and easily turned to methods of violence and hate. This should not be the case. Each mind in our world is something incredibly unique and special that we should treasure with utmost sincerity. We often fall prey to the powers of lust, wealth, and control while we should be fighting for compassion, justice, and equality to all who demand it. At this point in time, so many of us are like characters in a book. We move along on a single page, line by sluggish line, not seeing what lies ahead, and barely remembering what happened before. Instead, i personally believe that we should make a step to control our fate. We should take a step to control the course of our actions and intent. We should all band together and make a joint effort to restore a feeling of peace and serenity like none we have ever had before. Let us no longer trudge along, completely blind of our fate, and devoid a choice. From now on, I vow to step out of my page in this world. I vow to become the author, to pick the page, and to give meaning to my life's work.

How Quiet is the Midnight (Song of the Undead)Set aside the buried light [br] Of candle, torch, and rotting wood, [br] And listen to the turn of night [br] Caught in your rising blood.[br] How quiet is the midnight, love, [br] How warm the winds where the ravens fly, [br] Where all the changing moonlight, love, [br] Pales in your fading eye.[br]How loud your heart is calling, love, [br] How close the darkness at your breast, [br] How hectic are the rivers, love, [br] Drawn through your dying wrist.[br] And love, what heat your frail skin hides, [br] As pure as salt, as sweet as death, [br] And in the dark the red moon rides [br] The foxfire of your breath.[br] [br]

I just don’t know why but it seems, certain music/pictures/movies
trigger certain parts of my memory and just break me down. Like a
certain song I listened to just reminded me of someone I lost long ago.
I wish it’d go away but then again I don’t. I don’t want to lose the
memory of the person just the awful memory of them fading away.
Hmm..maybe this’ll be a better way of taking out the emotions that
build up in me, rather than flipping out on someone close to me. It’s
happened before and I hate it, just because I don’t realise what I’m
doing at that moment in time. That person is just there and they’re
pretty much defenseless and makes me feel like an ass later on.
Hmm...what to do.<br><br>Apparantly from the school
counselor/psychologist people I have the smarts to be one of the top in
my class, I just need to learn
to apply myself to my school work. I want to do better, I
just don’t know it sometimes until I’m totally screwed. I don’t want to
be working at some ??? job for the rest of my life. I honestly know I
can do better. I just need that certain push or that one person to show
me that I can do it. That I’m worth something. I can’t even trust my
own parents with my life. The only people I can honestly trust are my
Grandmother and Chelsey. I trust them two with my
life..<br><Br>You know what sucks, growing up without a
father figure. You just miss that part of your life. The guy who you
call dad and takes you outside to play catch. Well yes I never got
that. Instead I was stuck at home, usually taking apart things seeing
how they work. I still wish I’d of gotten to see that part of life it
would of been great. I almost hate my father most of the time for
leaving us at such a young age. I ignore my step-father just because I
don’t see the need for him in my life. I don’t see the need for many
people yet I still deal with them. The only reason I even go to my
fathers house is to see my step-brother Race because he’s almost
ignored in a family of all girls...I really don’t even know what else
to let out.<br><Br>I wish I would of listened to my older
brother Kiel at such a younger age instead of ignoring him or flipping
out when he’s giving me advice. I know everytime he’s said something
meaningful to me I’ve pretty much shunned him out. He was right, and
sometimes I feel as if I owe everything to him. I look up to him he’s
not the greatest Role Model but he’s my brother. He has it good with
his sports. His grades were always good. He’s also tried to help me
with mine as well. I feel like I’ve ignored everything anyones ever
said to me and it’s came back and bit me hard.<br><br>Well I don’t know what
else to talk about as I’m drowning in tears right now.<br>~I love
you.
