If you've having difficulty accessing the FTC Chat Network, the
following corrective actions have helped users successfully replace
the chat control program that may be causing the problem.
- In Internet Explorer,
click "Tools" at the top of your browser and then click
"Internet Options".
- In the "Internet Options"
dialog box (see below), select the "General" tab, and then click
on the following buttons and click "OK" or "Yes" when asked if
you want to proceed:
- "Delete Cookies..."
- "Delete Files..."
- "Clear History"

- On the "General" tab and
in the "Temporary Internet Files" section, click
"Settings...".
- In the "Settings" window,
click the button "View Objects" (see below).

- In the "Download
Program Files" window, select, right-click and delete all files
beginning with "FTCChat Control". When asked to confirm
the deletion,
click "Yes".

- Close this
window, click "OK", and then "OK" again to save
these settings.
- Using Internet Explorer,
open your preferred FTC Chat page and join a Chat. This will
