FTC SUPPORT DOCUMENT 104
Clearing
Cookies This document is
intended to walk the reader through the process of deleting cookies. Cookies
sometimes become corrupted and need to be cleared, so new ones will be generated
by the sites you frequent. When you log into an FTC site for the first time, a
cookie will be used to recall your username and password to facilitate future
visits. If you are having a problem logging in, a cookie may have become
corrupted. A typical example is a guest who signs up and cannot remove the
original Guest_[name here] nickname. Deleting cookies will remove the old
nickname from your computer and will permit the new cookie to recall the proper
nickname. 1. Close out all Internet Explorer windows, except this
page. 2. Go to your Start menu. 3. When the Start menu pops up, select the Control Panel
Option. 4. When the Control Panel opens, double click on the
Internet Options icon. 5. Click the Delete Cookie button, and then click the OK
button to close the window. Close out of all open windows and re-launch your
browser. You should now be able to join our network without any corrupted
cookies. |
